The Sacramento Kings lost tonight’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors 96-105. Â Despite the loss, Sacramento kept the game close the whole night, and actually led going into halftime. Â There were many positives tonight, and below are some of the more encouraging stats from tonight’s game:
- Ben McLemore took 13 shots and made 5, which is an improvement over his 3-10 performance against the Lakers. Â Mclemore’s biggest issue to this point has been his inconsistency, so seeing him string together performances like this is always a good sign.
- DeMarcus Cousins was dominant tonight, scoring 20 points in just over 20 minutes on a very efficient 11 shots. Â Cousins appears to be extremely comfortable in Joerger’s offense so far
- For the second night in a row, the assists were distributed all across the roster, with starting point guard Ty Lawson getting just three dimes in 20 minutes. Â This appears to be a result of the Kings running less offense through that position, and transitioning to Joerger’s high post system.
Overall, tonight was a great showing against a very strong opponent. Kings fans should be encouraged by the progress to this point.
