In the article posted on their website, Scotto says that Sacramento and Miami are “kicking the tires” so a trade is not necessarily very close. Â He also notes in the report that the Kings are looking for a starting point guard in any trade involving Rudy Gay.
Gay has reportedly informed the team that he will be opting out of his current contract this summer, making this effectively the final year on his current deal. Â He can still change his mind, but the pressure will be on to trade Gay if the team doesn’t feel that they can retain him.
