• It’s the last week of the regular season, so it is with much sadness that I will say “until next year.” Half of the battle at this point in the season is suiting up since the majority of the teams are locked into their playoff spot or are plummeting down the standings for a chance at a better draft pick. Let’s look at the players who we think should be picked up as we scan The Wire. The criteria for consideration is to be owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! Leagues.

Josh Richardson (36% owned) – J-Rich picked the perfect time to start playing up to his potential. It was the exact time where most fantasy leagues have ended, but right when the Heat needed it the most. We discussed Richardson’s potential in-depth this season so there is no need to provide more evidence. Pick up J-Rich and reap the benefits in this two-game week.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (10% owned) – If you look at the last week and a half of production from TLC (not the group with Beyonce), it would be tough to tell the difference between him and a player like Khris Middleton. There is potential for him to get better since he hasn’t been efficient from the field. In any event, the opportunity is there for the taking for TLC, so pick him up in all formats. He could win you your league if you are in a heated battle to the end.

Jamal Murray (34% owned) – Murray’s rookie season can be defined by the inconsistency in playing time and value. It looks like he is finally receiving the playing time he needs to succeed. He’s always a threat to knock down multiple treys and have a high scoring game with a few steals. Murray is on a team that still has two games left so he is worth owning in standard leagues.

Skal Labissiere (21% owned) – With the Kings in full on tank mode, Skal continues to see plenty of minutes. As I stated in the prelude, playing in games is half the battle. Skal isn’t just showing up, he’s a talented kid who can grab boards, score efficiently and put up defensive stats. Scoop him up in standard leagues.

Ish Smith (35% owned) – Ish has been incredibly consistent over the past two weeks. He is above average in points, boards and assists. Since his shot is falling, he’s a must-add in standard leagues. He should continue to play until the last game.

Maurice Harkless (30% owned) – Harkless is on a team that is fighting tooth-and-nail for a playoff spot so he should play all five games. He has been a defensive terrier all season and we don’t expect that to change any time soon. He should be owned in standard leagues.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (3% owned) – Since Otto Porter has been sitting with a back injury, Oubre has stepped up as the starting small forward and filled in quite nicely. If Porter misses more time, he should see a healthy dose of minutes and should continue to score, grab boards and help with defensive stats.

Spencer Dinwiddie (7% owned) – Dinwiddie is getting the standard 20-25 minutes that every Nets player gets, but he has been on fire lately. He’s a healthy option for those who need points, assists and steals. He has also blocked quite a few shots lately, which is a major selling point at the point guard slot.

Larry Nance Jr. (30% owned) – The Lakers are suffering from a lack of big men, so Nance is receiving ample playing time. Lately it has resulted in a few double-doubles paired with multi-steal nights. Nance could be shut down so pay attention to the news alerts, but if he’s available, he is a great option at the power forward slot as the season winds down.

Joe Johnson (13% owned) – It is getting closer to playoff time, which means that Playoff Joe is here to play. Playoff Joe is a reliable scorer who hits shots at a high clip, especially from downtown. He’s someone to look at in deeper leagues as the season comes to a close this week.
