For the rest of the postseason I am going to focus on a few top plays rather than two players at each position. With just two game slates from here on out, winning becomes difficult, but not impossible. To accomplish such a feat, we will need some value plays to step up. Here are three guys who can fill out a lineup and help get points without breaking the fantasy bank.
TERRY ROZIERÂ – BOSTON CELTICS (DK-$3,500, FD-$2,600)
While the second year guard is not a sexy play, it will take very little production for Terry Rozier to reach or exceed value. He has played 15 minutes or more in the Celtics last four games, and there is no sign that Rozier’s minutes will be limited in any way going forward. In Boston’s last game against the Wizards, Rozier scored 12 points, grabbed six boards and added four assists to round out an excellent budget line. Rozier makes a fantastic play tonight.
MARCIN GORTAT – WASHINGTON WIZARDS (DK-$6,500, FD-$6,200)
Marcin Gortat has struggled at times for the Washington Wizards this season, but if his last two games are an accurate predictor of the immediate future, Gortat is a must-play on tonight’s slate. With double-doubles in each of Washington’s two contests against the Celtics, Gortat appears to be primed for another big game. While not as cheap as Rozier, Marcin makes an excellent value play, and should free up some valuable cap space in a juicy match-up versus a poor Celtic front-line.
MARCUS SMART – BOSTON CELTICS (DK-$5,600, FD-$5,600)
My final pick is another young Celtic guard, Marcus Smart. While Smart’s last few lines are underwhelming, he plays over 30 minutes per night and is due a breakout game. If Smart can limit his turnovers, his usual balanced line could make a nice supplement to John Wall, Isaiah Thomas or Kevin Durant. Smart plays hard and is an excellent defender; I will definitely be playing him in multiple lineups tonight.
It’s always difficult to pull value out of a two game slate, but these are some options that may lighten the load. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at atbuckner2121@live.com. Thanks for reading and good luck!
